Data retrieval

    I have an infected computer that I need to retrieve documents and pictures from. Is there a way I can get this done without having to take it to a computer service. I have a new computer to work with now

    • Why don't you just remove the infection?
    • You can burn the files you want to a CD or DVD if you have a CD/DVD burner builtin.
    • Copy them over a network directly to another PC that has proper protection
    • Or you could be the infected hard disk into a properly protected PC as a slave drive and copy them

    Thanks for your response. I can't get anywhere on my infected computer. I think the best option would be:

    but I wouldn't know where to get started. Is there a way to connect the drive externally? I really don't want to play inside a warranted machine.

    Networking may be an answer to, but again ????

    No! Networking is the closest solution.

    I suggest that you request help in the Software Forum. Here we work on removing malware.

    Thanks for your advice. I went through the malware removal one time before with TimW who did an excellent job of helping get rid of it. The same computer cannot get past start as i got caught between virus programs. I appreciate your time....
