My pc picture wobbles a bit ,any ideas how a could sort this , i hav tried the following but it still wobblers a bit

Go to Control Panel (classic view) and chose MOUSE . Under Mouse go to "Scroll" (tab). I have mine set to scroll 3 lines at a time. Make sure One screen at a time is not checkmarked.

Another place to check is Control Panel (classic view) then System. Under System go to Advanced (tab) and click the Preformance Settings button. Under Settings on the Visual Effects (tab). I have "Let windows decide what is best for my computer" dotted.

    Hi

Some background info to have to hand...

What Windows version you using and is it fully upto date?
What is your PC make if from say Dell, HP etc?

Wobbly picture, by that I'm guessing with the things you have tried its when you scroll down the page on say Internet Explorer or in a Folder? if so then first off I would update your Graphic Card driver.

If you dont know what make your Graphic Card is then the Make and Model of your PC if from as mentioned Dell etc will help ID this or Download and Install Everest and just tell us the make of Card, so once Everest is installed click Computer > Summary and scroll down and whst written next to Display Video Adapter?

Just a quick thought, recently I got a new modem for my DSL hookup. For some reason when it is plugged into the same power-strip as my PC, my monitor flickers a bit at the edges. This shouldn't be of course, but it does happen and is noticeable. My remedy is to plug the modem into a separate outlet. Not sure if this is the kind of wobble you are talking about.

    Hi

Could also do with these two questions answered as it seems as if you have onboard graphics and generally these come on laptops or sometimes with desktops from OEMs, so manufacturers name and model of the PC plus what Windows version you have will help get correct driver.

I could guess on a VIA/S3G driver from say HP but rather not guess, and get you correct driver 1st time.

    Hi

Is your PC a bought one from say Dell, HP etc if so their should be a model name and number on the case somewhere, please do tell us this info as driver could be tailored to their requirements, although the VIA ones always seem to be the same unified driver.

Also as I notice you have Firefox, is it only in Firefox you get this or in IE? do test IE for same occurance.

Do you have loads of plugins or add-ons in firefox?
    Do you have any toolbars?
Does this happen in any folders when you scroll or just on the internet?
Have you scanned for malware (viruses)?

    Hi Paul

Ok thats good, narrow down the issue to likely Firefox, so next questions are....

    1. Is Firefox the curent version if not install the current version from here Currnet version is 3.03 so to check yours open up Firefox and clock Help > About Firefox

    2. Possible that either Java or Flash could casue this so update them both, but only after you have current version of Firefox

    Java
http://www.majorgeeks.com/Sun_Java_Runtime_Environment_d4648.html ( do uninstall all older versions of Java also as some could cause issues, can use JavaRa to do this for you )

    Adobe Flash

No worries on PC, now we know its a home build as I dont now think that your Graphics driver is the cause, its Firefox related, so hopefully one of our Firefox specialists can jump in too with some advice on wether they have seen this before and the fix.
