Hi, I recently installed Ubuntu on an old computer and realized after the fact that my Sabrent usb2 tv tuner will not install on it. I have googled this issue and searched Ubuntu support with negative results. Apparently there's a driver that needs to be installed, but I can't find where to download the correct version from, and even then, it's confusing as to how to install it. Can anyone shed any light on this, or are usb2 tvtuners simply not compatible with Linux?:confused

    Thanks BOOMM!

The link to the Google Search that produced result 3 is not working, could you post it again? (i need all the help i can get).

The first link works but I don't have a clue how to set this up. First of all, the download is a .tar file and my computer will extract it, but then I don't know what to do next. HELP---I need step-by-step instructions, I'm not quite as geeky as I thought.:-o

The Google Search found this thread as result #3!

"are usb2 tvtuners simply not compatible with Linux?"
    was the syntax searched.

The setup.html page has raw directions on how to compile the kernel with USB TV

You may find help compiling your new kernel from The Ubuntu Forums on this one.
