Not true - after you have voted you can see who voted and how.....

And you need to add the option "will not vote" if you want to make it a bit realistic. Both for those of us who don't have a citizenship to vote, and for those who just don't care to.

I did not vote for a party, I voted against the other candidate's platform!

If you are registered as non-partisan or independant in California, they disqualified the primary ballots.....

I cannot vote as I not americano, but feel as a citizen of the global world, that this election will possibly shape the way the allied nations maybe seen by others. Likely will try and catch the first set of results to see how its going, wont see the results till next day as election counting and results will be during my ZZZzzzzzzz time :zzz

I voted early yesterday since the lines are supposed to be crazy on election day. I still had to wait over an hour because of the massive amount of people.

I refuse to vote for one single party. I vote for candidates based on the merit of their platform, not based on their party affiliation. Therefore, I cannot vote in your poll. :)

That said, I mailed in my absentee ballot today, so I'm done. :D

    BoredOutOfMyMind,
Do you have to declare what party you are for (or independant) when you register? We don't here in OZ and there'd be uproar if they tried it.

If you vote for other than the 2 main parties, does your second / third /whatever preference eventually go to one of the 2 main parties candidate, or is it just ignored altogether?

    You sick puppy!

Mmmm now there is a question an a half! No I have not but MMmmmmmm would I need to be on an electoral register? not too hard to falsify an address or even name and persona, but thinking I'd need to be on some register already to gain a vote?

In Michigan, you don't have to declare a party (although they ask you to), but if you don't declare or if you declare independent you cannot vote in the primary, since it is only for the Democratic and Republican parties.

Thanks Sgt. Tibbs, Halo ( :) ) and B_O_O_M_M for your comments. In Australia we do it the other way around. We vote for local representatives in a Federal election. Then the Prime Minister is selected from the winning party (with the most representatives) by those representatives. Bazza

Well, for those that don't vote then don't complain about the way things are turning out in the future. ;) This is one election that has me fired up even though I can't vote. I don't want to see 16 more years of this.:)

Even though there's little doubt in my mind that multi national corporations and the quiet ruling elite form and execute most of American policy decisions I think if I lived stateside I'd have to vote for Obama in the vain hope the president still has some power:-D

The Bush doctrine has been a monumental failure,we have to start talking to these countries unconditionally as Obama 'claims' he will, that's the issue that would get me to the polling station and the one that would swing my vote.

Not long to go now. I see that millions have been voting early and still have 5+ hour long queues to contend with. It is going to be interesting if huge turnouts crash the systems on Tuesday. Shades of Florida shards last time. :) Bazza
