Let's find out if you are having malware problems!

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

Step 5: Enable User Account Control (UAC)

    * While running the MGtools procedure, we had you disable UAC. Now we need to enable it again to help keep you safe.
    * You can either respond to the security notice in the System Tray alerting you to enable UAC or you can do the below.
o navigate into the \MGTools folder just created in the root of your Windows boot drive.
o locate the EnableUAC.reg file and double click on it and allow it to be added to the registry.
o This registry patch is used to enable the User Account Control feature
o You should reboot after applying the registry patch so that it works properly. You can wait to do this reboot in step 6 below if you are going to immediately perform step 6.
    * Now continue on to step 5
i don't understand any of that at all sorry, so if you can make it a bit easier for me to understand, thank you.
i think the problem is fixed as my mozzilla firefox is working now!
i just need to know if all the steps i followed are ok now. do i need to tick or untick any of the boxes before i did my spyware scan?
also the uac how will know if its working properly?
really sorry for askign all these question. it has helped me and my computer seems to be running ok now. just unsure about all the things have done.
thank you very much for all your help.
thats goes for everybody at majorgeeks!!:):):)

That is only one of the 4 logs requested. You need to attach the logs from Malwarebytes, ComboFix, and MGtools that were requested.

Also you should not be trying to do step 5 of the Vista Cleaning procedure if you are still having problems. Step 5 is when you are not having problems. So I need to ask, "Are you still having problems?" Based on your last message it would seem that you are saying everything is okay now.

And if you do not understand step 5 of the Vista Cleaning procedure, how did you do the previous part of step 3 where you were referred to the Using MGtools link to run MGtools?

Is your copy of Spyware Doctor a paid program or is it just a trial that you downloaded while trying to fix your malware problems? If just a trial, uninstall it now before going any further.

Now we need to use ComboFix
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Now make sure you have all web browsers closed.
    • Go into Control Panel -->Network Connections.
    • Right click on your connection
    • and click Properties.
    • On the Properties page, highlight Internet Protocol(TCP/IP)
    • Click Properties. This will bring up another page.
    • Select Obtain DNS Server Automatically.
    • Click the ok button. The page will close.
    • Press ok on the page in front of you.
    • Restart the computer.
    • Reconnect to the Internet using Internet Explorer.
    After reboot, run Ccleaner!

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

i cannot understand this, when i go in to the control panel there is no network connections i have followed the instructions you have given me, but i cannot find the above.

i cannot find, the link saying network connections! it doesn't say network connections on this computer! windows vista 32bit sp1! so where will i find it thank you. i am in control panel right now, and the only thing that looks like network connections is called network and sharing center.
with the side headings saying, (view computers and devices). (connect to network) (set up a connection or network) (manage network connections)and (diagnose and repair).
sorry that's all there is and i don't understand any of it!

Sorry about that. I forgot that Vista does this differently. I need to update those steps to include Vista.

    Your logs are clean.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommed you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
      • Delete the C:\combofix folder from combofix (if it exists)
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    5. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    8. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
