    HI everyone,

I really didn't where to post my thread because I'm not a PC genious (more a entry level geek).

I bought a 8G USB drive and I have been looking for a way to install a PC Diagnostic tool in it, but no lucky so far. :confused I've seen the ones that some companies sell but I want to know if is there a way to make your own USB diagnostic tool. I already tried with portableapps.com but they don't have a diagnostic tool in hand. If anyone knows a way to make your own USB diagnostic tool please let me know, thanks. :-D

    Have you tried PStart?

Basically anything that is a standalone (doesn't have to be installed) can be used on a flash drive.

You could also use a universal extractor to make applications portable.

I believe many/most of the utilities by NirSoft are standalone as well. Many can be found at MajorGeeks, but in order to save time, I'll post the NirSoft site and you can look for yourself.

Many applications can be made portable by using the following Universal Extractor:
    http://legroom.net/software/uniextract

Some applications like Ad-Aware SE can be made portable, by just copying the whole folder from Program Files to your flash drive.

But you really need a base to start with like PStart or PortableApps
    http://portableapps.com/]

You may want to check this out as well. It's a program to help organize the Windows Sysinternals Suite and NirSoft Utilities:

Yeah, I was kind of wondering what type of "diagnostic" tools were needed also. I do lots of tech work, and my USB thumb drive has everything from antivirus/antispyware tools, to hard drive defraggers, file recovery, Norton/McAfee removers, internet explorer repair tools, portable Firefox, etc etc etc etc... If you're interested, I could post a screen shot of the files on my flash drive to give you an idea...
