HI, I'm a first time user...
Cannot connect to internet unless in safe mode. All other functions seem to work all right. In safe mode I can connect to all websites I've tried EXCEPT Gmail, can't bring up the mail account. iGoogle opens though.

I've gone through the READ & RUN ME FIRST, Malware Removal Guide. One step I could not figure out was : Emptying the Norton Protected Recycle Bin. I could not find it. I've done all of the other steps though and still unable to connect other than in safe mode.

I will attach the logs. I am

This is my daughter's computer but as far as I know, one day (at college) she was online just fine and the next morning was not able to get on line. She is not aware of anything in particular that was different. I'm not sure if she'd shut down the computer or left it running. (she's not here to ask at the moment)

UPDATE: I've got things working now. I needed to try to correct the problem before the end of the weekend so struck out on my own. I uninstalled and reinstalled Windows Service Pack 3. Apparently there was a problem with the first install. This corrected the problem, I am now able to connect to the internet in normal mode.

Good to know.....as this did not appear to be malware related. :)

I have another possible issue here. After I got back on line in normal mode, I ran Ad-Aware, I did a full system scan. It came up with 2 items, I am sorry, I don't remember what they were called, something like "MRU" or something like that. I removed them. After that, I could not get online in normal mode again. Because the computer had to go back to college...... I restored the system back to before the scan (I'd done the Toggle System Restore procedure) and it worked just fine again. So, I'm wondering if there is a problem with Ad-Aware and Service Pack 3? or, did I remove something I should not have? Should I uninstall Ad-Aware and just use Spy Bot?

Also, I'm also needing to know if the antispyware that you have us install during the READ & RUN ME FIRST procedure continues to work on the computer or is it just a one time run that then should be purchased after the initial download? What anti-spyware do you recommend?

    Thank you

Uninstall Ad-aware as it is virtually useless. The two programs we had you install ( SAS and MBAM ) are both fine to keep as backup scanners.

If you are not having any other malware issues, then:
