Question...What AV Program to use?

    Being a faithful user of AVG for years...I have yet to try AVG 8.xx, reading AVG forums and reading the problems users are having with 8.xx make me wary. The question is What AV program is there, that is easy to install, easy to update and as good if not better than AVG 7.5?.. I am still receiving updates daily to AVG 7.5 FREE...The AV program must meet or exceed AVG 7.5 and meet the price ~FREE~...If this was posted in the wrong area...oops its happened before and may happen again;)...I know AVG 8.xx has had good installs with no probs I just don't want a new problem since my Java experience.....Linux looking better everyday.... and stich my lips for saying this..but might give OMG Apple a try.....Any Recommendations ? Thanks

    I have been using AVG 8 Free edition with no problems. I also use Comodo Free firewall and works well. I know of others that swear by Nod32 and Avast.

    I've been running AVG 8 on two windows 2K computers for several months. (Both had been running 7.5 which I removed and did a clean install). As Mark said, do a custominstall so you don't get the items that will drag down your system.
    Every once in a while I will get an error about an update failing. I assume the servers had a problem and forget about it until the next day.
