After you spend an hour in the loft trying to find them.

Ours may not even be in the loft...it would be like a round of the krypton factor trying to locate them LOL then you find that most of the bulbs are broke, and you gotta head to the pound shop to buy another set cause you don't think it's worth going to B&Q and forking out £25+ quid for the same damn things :-D I LOVE christmas

I now understand why not many folks bother sending xmas cards anymore...years ago you could afford to buy enough to go round all family and friends....now you're looking at almost a £5 for a set of 10 bah...humbug "things is tight ..things is hard...heres ya bloomin christmas card"

We always used to have a big X-Mas tree. It took hours to set it up and decorate it, since no one else wanted to help out. Finally had 'nuff of it and bought an artificial puny little tree, already decorated and I put the lights on it. Set-up is 15 minutes. :-D After January it gets to be put back in the big garbage bag with the lights still on it, ready for the unveiling next time around. :cool

No outside lighting as we live in a condo.

Now I hate to sound like a grinch, but I refuse to spend $75.00 for a 5' tree that's already half dead by the time we get it home. Then once it's home, it's the untangling of 5 miles of lights, getting cut on X-mas balls that have broken during storage and watching my half-dead tree smolder if the lights get too hot!! This year, I got smart(?) I went and bought an 8' artificial tree pre-lite with 450, non-heat emitting colored lights, 6 boxes of rather nice looking PLASTIC X-mas balls (24 per box) and a star that actually stays on the top of the tree, where it belongs. My son is happy, I'm happy and my wife....well we'll save that for another thread!! This tree came in 3 sections and it will be beautiful...once I learn which plug you use to plug into the sections to get the lights to work!! Damn, I've never seen a tree with some many darn outlets!! I know, I know, you're all wondering what this 'smart(?)' person paid for all this splendor....well I'll put that into the same thread as my wife's opinion!!;)
