How is the best way to uninstall FireFox 1.9.0.3224 ?

There is no uninstaller application in FireFox itself. :confused :cry

Revo Uninstaller, CCleaner options uninstaller, and XP Add / Remove programs do not list any method of uninstalling it?

I know I can simply delete the Folder, and all Files relating to FireFox, but there must be a more elegant way of dong this.

Your urgent replies will be much appreciated as I cannot check my emails.

Curious as to why you cannot check your email until you have uninstalled FF :confused

Installed Firefox just now and was able to access my eMail(Yahoo Mail). Started my uninstaller(Absolute Uninstaller) and Mozilla Firefox showed up and deleted without a whimper.

I can't believe that programs are still being written with no standard uninstaller. Such arrogance. Reminds me of the hassles I had with Comodo Firewall ages ago. Thanks for links, emms. I will check them out. Bazza

Just downloaded and installed Absolute Uninstaller. I found it under Mozilla FireFox, not FireFox. :-o Probably the same under the other ones I looked at?

Just checked them again. They all appear under MOZILLA Firefox (doh).
I always delete the developers name when installing new programs and just install them as the program name. My thoughts were / are along the same line, apparently. :-D

Just uninstalled old FireFox. Installed latest version of FireFox from Major Geeks. Now I've gotta remember how to set up FireFox as I had it. :cry I unchecked the box so as to remember my old settings. Install didn't detect that.

Still cannot log onto www.gmx.com Still get redirect loop error. No reply from email sent to gmx.com via Outlook. Looks like all my deletions and re-installs are for nothing. I will try and log onto gmx.com through #2 son's laptop. Hope that works. Bazza

There is no obvious uninstall program .exe in FireFox that I could see. There are only 3 applications listed. None of which is an obvious uninstall program.

The number I gave was from the "About" info on that version of Firefox I was using. I have just gone into "About" in the latest version and this appears.

Different from what I had. As I mentioned I was looking for FireFox, NOT Mozilla FireFox, in the uninstall programs that I use. No wonder I couldn't find it. End of story. Bazza

What sort of reboot loop for gmx?
I had trouble logging into it but eventually determined two things: I had to turn off AdMuncher (or look over everything to determibe what to enable) and I had to enable javascript (I'm using the noscript addon in FF) to get it to work.

I was curious about that email company so I entered it in my own Firefox and it jumped to:

    http://mail-us.gmx.com/

    as the proper address.

Sometimes due to one thing or another, those jumps don't take place as they should. Always use the "End Result" address when going to a site and don't always rely on the "Jump From" address.

I've upgraded versions of Firefox many times since the old Beta days and I've always been able to UN-Install the old versions from Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
Complete Version upgrades will NOT overwrite older versions but install to completely NEW folders, so removing the old version is not really necessary.
Likewise, the beta version of Firefox (3.1 beta) that's currently available.....
it will NOT overwrite 3.0.4. So it's safe to just try it out.

    Happy Holidays!

I am guessing that www.gmx.com tried to redirect users to http://mail-us.gmx.com/ but stuffed it up.

They could have redirected www.gmx.com to www.gmx.com. Thus the redirect loop. I am only guessing. I don't think I was advised that the link had changed, thus my redirect loop problem. :-D

Well I'm 50% there. I can read my emails, but still cannot access my Google alerts. I still get the "Redirect Loop" error message for these alerts. I will probably have to cancel these and reload them.

    Back to further research. Bazza
