Recovering data from HD crash...

    I have been through numerous HD crashes in recent years and have always been able to recover files with a program I had which allowed me to hook the crashed drive via IDE and transfer the files to a new good drive after a lengthy scan. Well, I misplaced my master disk and now I can not remember what it was called. It was so easy to use and reliable. It was a freebie that I DL'd from some long forgotten source. Any ideas or recommendations from the community here would be appreciated.

    EDIT: Nevermind, I found my disk. Sorry for the useless post. :(

    care to share the name of the freeware you used and how to use it. I just had a 750gig HD crash and really need to recover some of the software and photo ans such from it. The new HD arrived today.:wave
