Legality of Reselling Windows

I have two retail versions of Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade. Its two different discs with two different license keys in retail packaging. Am I able to legally resell the software as long as it is not installed on any system? Both were installed on a computer and activated at one point, however I since purchased Vista Ultimate from my school bookstore and I am no longer using the Home Premium Keys.

It occurs to me that you can "legally" sell it - but I don't believe it will work on another computer without some sort of "blessing" (release) from Microsoft (Corporation).

I believe that is the case with the software - however ,if you bought it, you own it - it's yours - I see no reason why you could not "legally" sell it, as long as the person buying it knows (understands) that there may well be a problem with Microsoft allowing it's "full usage".

Without the buyer fully understanding that, it would be unethical to sell it to that person/persons..

I think I would contact Microsoft, explain that you have upgraded, and that you would like to recoup your initial investment on at least one of the Vista Home Premium programs. I don't know - does that make sense?

 

Makes sense. I'll give Microsoft a call and see what I can do.
