    use HWMonitor

    I have a inspiron 530 desktop.
    intel core 2 quad 6600 2.4ghz
    gpu XFX 9600 gt
    A thermaltake power supply 550wats
    6GB ram
    600gb HD
a windows vista home premium 64bit

My TMPIN0 at the HWMONITOR shows 85C at startup and stays around that even while I'm playing.
I've being like that for about 3 months with no problems at all, I think the program is crazy, tried speedfan also and it shows the same temperature.

How do I make sure it's true?
I play BF2 every day and Crysis also, my system never froze, start up fast and turn off fast.

If true how do I fix it without damaging the airflow in the case?
I clean the case every three months for dust build up, so it's really clean.

I spoke to a dell representative and he said not to worry because they didn't know if the reading on the software were true and it shouldn't be because the system runs great. but still I'm concerned. I'll post a picture of the readings larter.

    I appreciate any help.
    thanks!

did the PC already come with those parts you have listed?

Or did you upgrade your self?

well maybe u need to buy a new Power Supply that is at least 650w because with those parts i'm sure you will need a powerful supply. Oh and I suggest you get a new fan for the fron of the case and the back(at least 120mm) if you already have 120mm one then that's ok.

    Hi

Seems like some of them are not reading your sensors correctly, a -51c from Speedfan and a 212c from HWiNFO32, would have your PC supercool on one area and melted in another!

    Most accurate seems CoreTemp.

PSU shouldnt affect CPU and Mobo temps, plus adding a new PSU is nto always easy as DELL use proprietory hardware in a retail one may not fit the case, DELLs or the ones I have in my office in work do seem to have good cable and case managment in regards to airflow, so wouldnt mess with them but if their is spare space for an additional case fan then maybe worth exploring.

Could when the PC has been on for a while and upto some of the temps shown in your screenshots reboot and enter the BIOS and check if your Dell has a BIOS temp monitor, alot of motherboard BIOSes come with temp monitoring, that should be fairly accurate,

I am fairly sure you have a malfunctioning temperature sensor-----your data for the cores is very good----have a look at your MB manual to see where the malfunctioning sensor is located----it should only cause you more concern if it is on one of the MB "bridge" chips----these chips needed to be redesigned and do run quite hot now at higher bus frequencies. Otherwise ignore it----your system is considerably cooler than mine in general.
