@Halo - actually, our house doesn't stand out too much - maybe if I took a photo of the whole street for you, you would see why LOL. People love to put lights up outside around here. There are deer all over the place too. We were thinking of doing a red-neck road hunt later this week roflmao

 

well hello Laura iv never played Lacrosse but I remember seeing in Ireland they played it a lot...And always liked the look of the sticks it just seemed quirky so I bought it because it was old and querky and im an Indemic collector of lots of different things....:cool

Haha you nut We put brandy butter, brandy sauce or real cream on them while they are still hot and fresh.

 

I'll google how to make those Lev, they look just beautiful! I might even have all the stuff needed to make them. A project for tomorrow.

 

with the very snowy weather over the past couple of days, I don't know when we'll get a Christmas tree...

we always go and cut one down ourselves, though. real Christmas trees fill your living room with that genuine outside smell

 

Well, I just checked a recipe and I'm sure there are shortcuts and substitutions around for mince pies but just looking at the ingredients and the methods, that's way more than I care to handle. What with all that fat and sugar, it may as well be a Crispy Creme donut though I'm sure mince pies taste much better than that.

Well, I finally got my Christmas Tree up, (at 1 o'clock in the morning)rolleyes. I bought some baubles and flashing fairy lights, but the tree still looks a bit sparse. ~I forgot how big this thing is. I have to bend the top, as it reaches the roof! :eek

 

Augie - you don't have to make the mincemeat from scratch. you can cheat and buy it in the grocery store in a jar
