Twenty days in a month, I'm in a small town called Solan. In the Himalayan ranges @ 4500ft OSL. An hour's drive from Shimla, the capital of the state, Himachal. The balance ten days, in a city just outside of New Delhi - Gurgaon..

In Himachal, I run a TATA Motor's Commercial vehicle dealership. It's a family business for close to fifty yrs.I Don't bother with the Susuki, passenger car franchise we have in Delhi. Once in Delhi, I simply spend time with my daughter and stay at home and chill. So ten days in a month, are holidays for me, with the spoilt brat who I have spoiled!!!..

ARMD/AMD = Age Related Macular Degeneration, its a medical condition that generally affects us as we enter our 50s+ and more so at around 70yrs, but can affect younger patients who are high myopic. NO known cure, we can halt the progression in some cases with new drugs mainly at this moment AntiVEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) agents, but work is going on to try and create a subsitute for the Retinal Pigment Epithelial layer which is the one damaged.

Where do I live: This morning, in the very frozen northwest of the USA, Oregon.

What do I do: Depends which day you catch me on. For work I am division office manager of a utility company. Our division predominantly focus on energy management (assisting residential/commercial/industrial customers in power saving programs helping to reduce the carbon footprint), power planning and power trading between other utilities on the national grid.

Other times of the week you can catch me fishing, hunting, camping, at the gym, vehicular maintenance, playing with my grandchildren to name but a few things.

I live just outside Grand Rapids, MI. I work through Local #26 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, which two weeks ago elected me to a third term as Recording Secretary/Sergeant-at-Arms. My primary skills are as a lighting tech or wardrobe (dressing, mostly), but I can hold my own in carpentry, audio, props and video.

I live and have lived all my life in Texas. Spring, right now, a northern suburb of Houston. I went to Med School at UTMB Galveston and trained post-grad in Houston and stayed here. Practiced OB-GYN the past 40 years until I retired 6 years ago.
Now, I really just play golf 3-4 days a week and diddle on my little computer.
I used to frag Kodo now and then but that was before he got seriously into the child-rearing phase.

Hey Radio, what's your flavor Nikon, Canon, or the Hassy Large/medium format. Or others..

Using FX or DX?? I'm still with the ancient N80 and the 28-105mm F4.5 and the 70-200VR

I've got my eye on the Nikon D3. Wonder when the price will drop. This is gonna burn a hole in the pocket soon ;) This is an over kill for me but..... :yum Love the way it handles noise at high ISO..
    Cheers..

Im from salina, kansas. I work as a resturant it person/chef/catering person. I do pretty much anything needed as my boss sees fit. He owns an Italian resturant, a steak and chop house and a bar. Keeps me plenty busy. Every summer I spend a month working at a Boyscout summer camp. Also spend many hours doing stuff for the Boy Scouts of America during the other months.

Hey! Actually i'm a canon guy... It's funny how once you've chosen, you never change huh?

I'm shooting with an old reliable 20D, which is holding up remarkably well. I've not yet had a picture editor complain, but the screen on the back seems to keep getting smaller and smaller... Saving up for the 5DmkII, which i think i well deserve (!). The saving isn't going so well, seeing as how i just bought a 16-35 f2.8L mkII for just under £1k..

Are you a pro or a keen amateur? been shooting anything interesting recently?

  27. sikvik

    sikvik Corporal Karma

An amateur. Not been shooting much lately.

Picked up a canon S5 a year ago. It's a fun camera, nothing more :(

That's why I was contemplating on the D3 Nikon. It's a ton of moolah - but it has got me drooling and suffering with NAS.

As I mentioned an overkill for me. :) Cheers...
