iTunes and external HDD

So, you have your songs stored on your external HD and you want to copy them onto your computer? When you connect your External HD, are you copying all your songs to your music folder in Documents? If you do that, you should then be able to import the songs into itunes using the Import feature. You should also be able to just import your songs directly to iTunes from you external HD. Have you tried either of those? Why are you changing the location of your iTunes library?

As far as syncing your external HD...did you get software with it when you bought it? Mine came with software that allows me to sync it to upload any new files I have. I set the rules as to which folders I wanted included.

 

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any 3rd party software like that. That doesn't mean there isn't something out there. If you don't get any advice in this thread about syncing it, you might want to start a new thread for just that issue. Someone might see it that has more knowledge about it.
