a litle info

    I got the task today to fix some ones pc. some how every were i go some one has a pc problome for me. any way this time it was my step dad and he had some problome where google would bring you to randome sites, and windows updater didnt work. I couldnt download any removal utilities on his pc cause aparently they were blocked or something.
    So i downloaded them and put them on my new trusty 16gb thumb drive witch i got just the other day from buy.com for like 25 bucks! any way, once I got the programs on his pc they wouldn't work.

    So if any one gets in to this bind this is how to get them to work.
    either rename them somthing totaly else like frogsetup.exe or if that dosnt work make a copy of the setup and paste it in the same area so it's name would be copy of whaterver.exe and it should setup.
    now to get the program to run, the easyest thing is just to copy the exe in the program folder and paste it in there with the oridunal so it is a copy then use that icon and then you should be able to get your program to work.

    So far I have made some good progress, but still am fighting with windows update. It is geting stuck in the scan Checking for latest updates for your computer.:confused

    This is why I tell everyone that I sell Insurance, not fix computers.

    Anyhow - I'm a tad confused with this part "just to copy the exe in the program folder and paste it in there with the oridunal so it is a copy then use that icon".

    Either way is it pretty rough to say say what is going on with just what you have here.


    Let's start from scratch and see what you can get installed, running and logged. if none of the below will work, we can try some online scanners.

    Please begin by clicking Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > View > Show Hidden Devices.
    • Scroll down to “Non-plug and Play Drivers” and click the plus icon to open those drivers.
    • Then search forTDSSserv.sys
    • Let me know if you find this or not.
    • If you do find it, right click on it, and select Disable. Do not try to uninstall it.
    • Also if TDSSserv.sys is found and you disable it, then reboot.
    • After reboot continue on with the below cleaning instructions.

    Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    Notes:
    1. If you run into problems trying to run theREAD & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

    I actualy got it runing and totaly clean. It's good to go now.

    What i ment by that was go to were ever the program is and copy the .exe then paste it in the same location. now use that .exe I had to do this for 3 computers in a row with this same string of trojan because the infection was blocking known scanners from running. So by copying the .exe and pasting it your not using the .exe with the real name. it has copy of infront of it and is not reconized by the blocks that the trojans have on it.

    i dont realy know any beter way to explane it for you.


    hows that insurance selling thing going for you?
    I get 23 bucks an hour for tech suport over here and charge 74 for the company, it's prety decent.

    Are you still having malware problems that you need assitance with? Is so, complete the instructions already given and attach the requested logs.

    omg, you didnt read one word did you?
    /my last post said everything was good.
    i never asked for help, i dont need it.
    i just wanted to pass on a trend that i have been seeing lately with new infections.
    Dont worry, I'll never try to help again.
