I use XP and Vista. Sometimes I have to hunt around a little in Vista to find things, but overall don't have any real problems with it. Is there a specific thing you need help with, or were you just ranting a bit? :-D (Which is ok if you were!)

Yup- when XP came out, lots of folks said "it sucks" and "it's bad" and "it's buggy and it crashes and '98 is better". Not true. They should have said "it's different and I'm not used to it and I'm confused". Then Vista came out. Lots of folks said (and still say) "it sucks" and "it's bad" and "it's buggy and it crashes and XP is better". Then I'll ask these same people if they've actually used Vista. 95% of the time, the answer is "No, I've never even seen Vista". So how can they form their opinions of Vista? Hype... web hype and listening to the ever-dangerous PC "expert" next door, or the friend of the son's girlfriend's brother who "knows all this computer junk who downloaded Vista from Rapidshare - he said Vista was lame". OK. So I'm ranting. Sorry. :-o The point is this: Vista is different and Vista will take some getting used to, that doesn't mean it's "bad" or that it "sucks" or that it's "buggy". It's no different than XP was 6 or 7 years ago, except for one thing.... it's different. Different doesn't mean "bad". Many people are resistant to change, heck, I'm one of 'em. I've had a Vista Ultimate x64 install disc for about a month now and still haven't installed it. I'm so attached to XP Pro that Vista may not appear on my home PC 'til early 2009....

I'm done. :-o rolleyes Sorry for the rant. :p

    Hi

Personally I find it much easier to navigate, start search is a bonus, no hunting through menus and start > all programs anymore, plus many more core Windows options are easier to use, more wizards to help.

If you are new to it as its been available for near 2yrs now, then give it time and dont dismiss it too quickly, I have found that my productivity is bette than with using XP, and I have used all MSFT OSes and this is not perfect but still very user friendly, plus future Windows versions will be similar to this one, so kinda like jumping from win98 to XP was.

If new to Vista then its a new learning curve, similar to many who went from Office 2003 to Office 2007 found, menus different but once you get used to them the software is easier and friendlier IMO.

I also judge OSes on stability and for me and I throw everything at my OS, in that its still the same default install that I did in Nov 06 of Vista, no re-install needed yet, unlike XP in its first year, which I killed a few times and needed a re-install.

Embrace and try it objectively, you may like it.
