Remove System Startup Programs

How can I remove programs from starting up on my computer. I was reading on the forums a while back that I shouldn't do this using msconfig.exe.

How else should I permenantely remove programs from starting when my computer starts?

 

Download and run WinPatrol to do this and a lot of other things.

Tools>Startup. Disable or delete. I always use the disable option instead of the delete. Better to be safe than sorry.

 

Upon posting about this startup issue quite some time ago here on MG, I was advised by a very experienced poster to do just that in CCleaner. I will take your advice after having read your link.

Just looked at Spybot S&D in Advanced Option.... never realized that option was there....
