PLZ reply fast+Xbox 360+only day for purchase

so my parents decided tht i could get a 360 and i was shocked. the reason i asked for urgency was because Christmas already past, and this is totally unexpected and i dont want this oppurtunity to pass me.

now there has been talk about using portable hds as main storage for an xbox 360.

this is wonderful because it costs less, new hd will have lots of space at a price tht i decide, and can easily hold files i want(ie adding all my mp3s instead of trying to rip the few cds i have).

i was just wondering if there is any lack of quality through using a portable hd, like lack of harddrive cache to make games run faster or rights to content of LIVE.

and is their major drops in quality between used 360s and new ones? or could i get lucky and receive a near perfect 360?

ugh srry one more thing, are the new 360s models released less accident prone?

External hard drives can be used to store movies, music, and pictures that you put on the hard drive from your computer. They can not be used to store items downloaded to the Xbox from Xbox live, such as Games, demos, trailers, and you can not load a game onto an external hard drive, only the included hard drive with the system. If you wish to utilized LIVE, you will need some method of storage other than an external hard drive. See my comment below about the 20GB upgrade for $20.

If you get an arcade, Microsoft offers a 20GB hard drive upgrade for $20.

If you get the pro model, I find that 20GB is just fine for me and I just stream all my media content from my computer.

Of course there is the elite with more hard drive storage for a much higher price.

The newer revisions of the 360 are more stable and efficient. The newest is called Jasper. Check out this link to see how you can tell the difference between the revisions. You'll want to try and find a Jasper if you can, as it shrinks the GPU die and is supposed to fix the RROD problem, but there's no guarantees.

 

The pro now comes with a 60gig hdd, so that should be more than enough.

 

i agree with overcooked totaly the hd that usualy comes with a 360 has pre installed.....like......operating system and if u get a external it wont give u the features of live or other gameing features.:major

Ah, if you have any troubles with that it may still be under warranty in any case. I'm sure you're enjoy it though, I'm loving mine even though I've sent it back a number of times.

how long will the normal warrenty last? i heard something bout an extension paid by micosoft because of the number of failures?
as long as it fails within tht period i get a new one w/o having to pay(or a fixed one)?

i may return just because i dont want to waste any more money w/ all the add ons and stuff(games and tryin to set up for live..costly..x.x)

 

One year regular warranty. You have a three year warranty for the Red Ring of Death problem only.
