Brand and model of computer so we can see what ports/connectors are on your computer.

You could also get some software that will convert and burn compressed movies like avi files onto a dvd for your dvd player. (If you have a dvd burner)

You have an SPDIF out (coaxial) port. I'm not exactly sure what that is. Found it; it is an audio cable and should have a red edge.

I'm not sure if you have the necessary ports to attach your computer to a tv and use it instead of a monitor.
If you have either the black port at the top or the yellow port under it in the picture

The black port is an S video and the yellow port is an RCA video.

You'd go to an electronics or large computer/tv store and ask for either an S video cable or an RCA video cable. But check to see if your tv has a port. It probably has audio (red and white) and video (yellow) ports if it is a newer model.
If the computer has an S video and the tv has an RCA then you need an S video to RCA adapter.

i've been through this. Unless you have a modern TV - flat screen high-def type with modern I/O interfaces, you will not be happy with the outcome. you basically want to be all digital, end-to-end

I agree with you 100%. And if somebody ask me, I do not recomend that either.

You can buy some adaptors, so you can connect your computer to your TV, but the outcome will not be good, specially if your obsesed with quality.:(

    Hi,

SPDIF (Sony-Phillips Digital Interface) is a single digital audio output with an optional +5 volt pin. It is usually an 1/8" mini stereo phone jack.
