I went from XP to Vista . No problem there I also reformatted to wipe out XP. Vista runs fine. My problem is when the boot screen comes up it says:

    Microsoft eailier OP system
    Vista

So I have two but in my Boot area when I use msconfig it only shows one operating sysetem Vista.

How do I remove the other one eailier version I just want vista so I don't have to choose.

But now I also have three drives showing I don't know how to merge one so I would be back to just two.

    Thank you in advance.
I hope this is in the right area to post these questions.

Install VistaBootPro, run and go to 'Manage OS Entries', choose legacy Windows, hit the red x and apply. Upon your next reboot, you should go straight into Vista. You can then uninstall VBP as it's no longer needed. As to the drives, I assume that XP is on C and that's the drive you want to clean/merge?

I reformatted the drives and I have lots of room. I think it wiped XP out. I have lots of space on all drives. Thank you for the other help on the boot screen and fast reply. I am not sure what to do with the drives.

Go into disk management and delete the volumes you want to merge, that will automatically merge them all into 'free space' if they're next to each other and then just format the new volume. I'm not sure of what to do if it's an 'orphan' partition. Someone who knows will post.

Well, you have to install it first. Double click on the file, ignore the backup blurb, and then go on from there. This what it looks like. Hope that helps. Oh, ignore the version number, it looks basically the same.

EDIT: BTW, I only have Vista now so that's why nothing else shows on the 'Manage OS Entries' page.
