Hahah....in the Uk as teenagers we couldn't all afford our own ciggies all the time so you used to borrow off those who could that night, and that was callled "bumming a fag". You really wouldn't want to use that expression nowadays.

And then there were "blowbacks".......rolleyes

Oh you just reminded me of another one.....you would "bumsuck a fag" which meant you blew instead.

Ah those were the days....when gay meant you were just happy.

 

I haven't seen that many double entendre's in... minutes.

Awesome headline. Something similar happened on WGN the other day, and it was at least as fun.

 

Yeah, they're not even allowed to say "Stop Bogarting the joint", (As in Humphery), anymore. LOL

Hmmm, when I was a young child in the U.K. Kids used buy candy cigarettes, call appropriately - 'Fags'. - I won't even mention what brand-name the liquorice cigarettes were called!:-o If you had plenty of cash, you could buy a cady cigar, called 'Diamond Jim', or 'Big Boss', depending on the brand. ~ I wonder if that's how M.A. and C.P. started out??...LOL

I wonder if they asked smokers if they actually want to give up before trying to tell people what to do.
In fact, in these days of so called political correctness, where's the equality gone ? It seems to have disappeared. I recently went into a branch of Lloyds Chemist. There was a large sign, hanging above the counter, telling customers that they could help them stop smoking. I complained, pointing out this was discriminatory against people who wanted to start smoking. Where's the help for them ?

 

I guess when his ratings are in the toilet, he becomes a potty mouth....

We are a community divided by a common language.
There are so many expressions that take on a complete new meaning when we cross the pond (east or west)

Here in Belgium most hospitals have a smoking room but it is usually put in the most inconvenient place to discourage us folk with this filthy habit from enjoying a fag.

It's hard to imagine a public building (especially a hospital) would designate a smoking area now days.
Being a smoker for forty years and experiencing the affects I have no qualms about banning smoking completely, everywhere.
Tax dollars are going to treat people who developed a wide variety of conditions from smoking, so yep it's everyones business.

I heard one of my granddaughters was in the car with her grandfather (my ex) quite a while back and he was smoking while driving. The child got hysterical, crying, thinking she was going to die.
