Windows XP Home Edition SP 3

I would like some advice.

I have Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 2
I have been told I should not upgrade to Service Pack 3

I don't know why.

I would like information before I jump in and just do it anyway.

Some people have had problems with the new service pack. It's been out for a long time now, and ive installed SP3 on every computer on my domain with no problems. i think youll be alright to install it.

 

I have SP3, but it was pre-installed on an OEM disk that I purchased. SP3 has been out long enough that they should already have any bugs corrected. I know that I don't have any problems with it.

 

I've done the same on over a dozen PC's and not had any issues. I've even downloaded SP3 to CD from Majorgeeks to make the update go quicker (over having to download the file everytime).

 

Ok I suggest to go ahead and do the update because it keeps everything up to date. I was the same as you in wanting info before I downloaded this and I understand your reluctance to do so, but you'll be ok on this. Besides if you do have issues after the install we here at MG's will get you through it--Have faith!!!

Hoooo, Boy! Thank you, guys. I thought this problem was so old I probably would not get any answers. I am overwhelmed.

Downloading from Major Geeks is a very good suggestion. I will do it.

Thank you, again. I was concerned because the last time I downloaded something from Microshaft it screwed up my computer for hours and hours. I feel warm all over now.

There was an issue with some of the drivers, For instance my mobo drivers had to be updated when it came out, the only bad thing was asusu had not released them when it arrived.

All is ok with it now.
