How do I auto install XP & all programs on several HDD ?

Hi,

From time to time I have to format my HDDs & install Win XP ( Pro ) and several applications on more than 4 computers. That takes too much time.

Is there a way I can do that once on one hard disk & save it in some way on a DVD & then auto install it on several hard disks ?

I am not a techi so any names of software & step by step help would be highly appreciated.

Unless all 4 computers are identical models, they'll have different hardware components and require different device drivers. So, you can't simply use a drive image from one computer to use on several other computers.

And, you can't legally install the same edition of Windows on multiple computers; that's a violation of the software license agreement.

 

Unless he has bought multiple licences. I think what the OP wants to do is called an unattended installation. A few years back, I used nLite to create an install disk, though I'm seriously out of date here. Tons of googled info out there while you wait for some more specific knowledge.

 

yeah, a network install would be something you might want to look into, but i too, have no further info on that

 

What you want is a non technical solution to a high tech problem.
There may be one, but there may not.
Completely set one computer up and use Norton Ghost on it. If the others are identical you can use one image for all. If not identical hardware you need to learn to slipstream.
One image can work for all four even with different hardware, but the solution is costly in terms of time or money depending on what you have the most of.
