My LI 1705 has some serious problems, 1stly it will hardly ever boot up, on the rare occasions that it does i have to be so gentle with it as the smallest nudge of the laptop will just blank out everything and completely shut down. Even if i just rest my hand on it sometimes it will just reset, then will not boot into windows or even post. the power light and the wifi l.e.d's stay on and the fan from the cpu is going but nothing on screen, then once in about 20 resets it will work and boot and operate no problems (aside from the extreme sensitivity to touch)

Anyone have any idea as to what is going on?

you might have a problem with the connection of the laptop screen....the way the lid closes, over time, can cause a problem with the cord that attaches the screen, if you feel comfortable doing it, take apart the laptop (google the proper way for your model) and inspect the cable for the screen....most of the time it's pretty simple just to pop the plastic up from the keyboard and peek under to look for that wire...

Well I stripped the laptop down to its core components on Sunday, removed everything right down to the Motherboard, just re seated all connectors cpu, ram and such in case that was the issue, alas the problem still exists, there are 3 cables connecting the screen to the laptop, one ending in what I imagine to be a 16 pin connector and another with a 4 pin connector. There is also a single wire which screws to the motherboard (which I assume is an earth),

Both of the connectors are fine, no damage to them or the pins on the male side coming from the screen & have secured the earth firmly so that should have a good connection.

When I had the laptop in bits I connected just the basic components to see if I could get it to post however this failed.

    Any other suggestions?
