    1. Why do they sterilize the needles for lethal injections?

    2. When you choke a smurf, what color does it turn?

    3. Why do they call it a TV set when you only get one?

    4. What was the best thing before sliced bread?

    5. What's another word for thesaurus?

    6. If you're in a vehicle going the speed of light, what happens when you turn on the headlights?

    7. Why is it that when you transport something by car, it's called a shipment, but when you transport something by ship, it's called cargo?

    8. You know that little indestructible black box that is used on planes, why can't they make the whole plane out of the same substance?

    9. Why is it that when you're driving and looking for an address, you turn down the volume on the radio?

    10.Why do we say something is out of whack? What's a whack?

    I know that these are rhetoricall but...

    1. ...because they get the needles from the same source as hospitals that only supply sterilised needles?

    2. You can't choke a smurf as they are fictional cartoon characters. :p ...bet they go white though.

    3. TV set contains not only a television but antenna, cabinet, and other items that collectively make up the set.

    4. Bread (unsliced).

    6. Vehicles have mass and therefore cannot attain the speed of light. However, Einstein's special theory of relavity states that the light beams will also travel at the speed of light when at the speed of light. "The Principle of Invariant Light Speed – Light in vacuum propagates with the speed c (a fixed constant) in terms of any system of inertial coordinates, regardless of the state of motion of the light source."

    7. The two words are synonymous (see thesaurus). Shipment is a loan-word from the days where freight went more by sea or canal.

    8. Black boxes are not indestructible, just merely more resilient to damage. However, a flying black box is a Borg cube and we don't want them flying around here, thank you. :-D

    9. Same problem as using the mobile whilst driving, it's distracting.

    10. whack = hit. It used to be that when a TV went fuzzy or had a snowstorm that we'd "whack" the TV set (q.v.) to reset it. Those were the days with valves, cathode ray tubes and the like. Therefore when other items were not functioning correct they were said to be "out of whack", meaning they had to be reset (i.e. whacked) to function correct - another loan-word.
