Anyone seen the Movie Documentary The King of Kong:A Fistful of Quarters

I saw it the other night and I have to say its one of the greatest doco's I've seen in a long time.

Its about the niche world of classic arcade game records mainly donkey kong I've played it once or twice ands its stupid hard,I kinda like the old games because they take me back to my childhood but it doesn't matter if you like them or not this movie is about the characters that surround the scene you honestly couldn't make these people up no one would believe they were real:-D

I really wanted to talk about the story and what happened during the movie but I've changed my mind mid thread I don't want to give anything away I'd rather you go in blind like I did with a hint there might be something special.

I recommend EVERYONE go and see it you won't be dissapointed,even if you hate video games.

yes i saw it a few month ago.It is a pretty good movie.....

I am a gamer a play those game, men i wish a had all those quarter back i be a millionnaire now !!!!!

 

I saw it, and to be honest? I didn't think that much of it. It bored me. Too much hyping the players and not enough talk about the game.

 

Thanks for reminding me of this Rikky. I saw something about this on TV months back and then forgot about it. Have Netflix and see it's available both on DVD and for instant online viewing.

Even though I thought the story of the players was its strongpoint I have to agree I think the only backstory about the game was that donkey kong was hard and it started of the Mario franchise.

I'll doubt you'll be dissapointed

 

It had the potential to be a good documentary, but instead it turned into a soap opera.
