Ok, I've seen it down a thousand times, but just exactly how does one go-about renaming a link, such as changing this: -> http://forums.majorgeeks.com/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=21

To simply: -> "Here", or "MajorGeeks Support Thread" - or whatever?

It can't be too awfully complicated - now can it?

    Thanks in advance ...

Yes (and thanks again), it did basically 'work-out' the second time - just not to the site I had intended. I think it will simply take repetition and practice - like everything else ...

    Hi Glenn

You needed in the 2nd link that was nearly right to loose the inital http:// thats in the box as your link had two of them, when you click the globe/link icon and the http:// is highlighted just right click the blue bit and paste your link.

Thank you very much David ...

Still, knowing me, it will require great quantities of time to get it "down pat"! I really need "a place" to be able to go and practice - without upsetting or confusing anyone ...

Thanks again to you both ...

    Hi again

    you can practice in http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=162458

it was a practice thread, don't think anyone will mind but please keep links within MGs since all safe links...

@halo nice furball find :) sorry Glen I should have looked at the link properly.

Thanks and sorry, I didn't realize the link could be bad. And sorry I didn't understand the first time reading your reply here what you were saying ...

    Thanks again ...

I mostly use the "Preview Post" button below the box in which you type your reply. That brings it up as it will be seen on the forum and you can test the link at that time. If everything is good, then submit your reply.;)

Great idea - thanks. I usually don't think of those type of things on my own when it comes to anything much "technical". As you can see, my name here ("grc123" = "please keep it simple for me") speaks volumes.
