That just looks like a pound unless that constitutes a family pack for you guys. I love that pure fat on the side.:yum I always filter the rendered fat and then pour it into a container and keep it in the fridge.

Augie, my Mom used to keep the bacon fat in the fridge. What do you use it for? I always toss it, as it can't be too good for your health, but I bet there are some tasty uses for it!

 

You can use it for anything really. Fry some eggs, latkes(potato pancakes), onions etc. and it actually has half the cholesterol that butter does. Yes it's pure fat and as such should be used with restraint.

 

There is nothing like eggs cooked in bacon grease. Freaking nothing! Every once in a while I treat myself to some fried bacon, save a little of the fat, cook me a couple of eggs, add some cheese... :drool

 

Why does that that bacon pic remind me of a face hugger from Alien?
