i scanned using avast and found many Iframe-inf infections and can't repair them. i have a log file "avast_log.txt" attached. i also did the malware cleaning procedure but i only got 3 log files. the combofix didn't generate a log file. the windows recovery console failed to install but combofix continued. it reached up to stage_50, then after the restart when it prompts that 'preparing log report' it closed and didn't generate any log. maybe because i had programs and avast that open on startup. after that i tried the mgtools and got the 4th error message so i installed the .NET and tried it again but i still got the same error message, but it generated the 'MGlogs.zip'. can you help me? i really don't want to reformat my computer.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You have much much much worse problems than this. You have a Virut infection. ALL executable files on your PC (including Avast itself) could be infected. This is a difficult infection to clean since everything you run can be infected. You need to backup any personal data immediately. DO NOT backup anything that is an executable file. Like EXE, COM, .SCR, HTML, HTM ....etc. So do not backup any programs you have download installers for as they may be infected. There is even a chance that JPG, MP3, PDF, WMV, and other file extension types are infected. The reason I say to back up immediately is because trying to fix infections like this could potentially make a PC become unbootable. If files required to run Windows are infected (and likely they are or soon will be) they could get deleted if the infection cannot be cleaned from the files. And if these required files get deleted then Windows may no longer bootup.

You may not have any choice.

After backing up your important data, try the below. Run the first then reboot before running the second. The reboot after the second before running the third.

    Using Dr.Web CureIt

If you can save logs from the above, attach them when you finish the scans.
