My wife passed over on 3/12 and my mind is racing. Computer not working correctly, so I came to majorgeeks as I have in the past just as I do what is right because I don't know what else to do. I cannot thank you all enough.

Sorry for you're lost and it saddens me to hear that. We think we know what it will be like when something happens, but its just not 100% until it happens. Anyways this place can be friends and we can talk and heal and help if needed.

Thank you Joey and I wish I could send this to all of the people that responded to me because I was in such terror that night. Coming home and making her dinner she said I have a head ache and I said lay down I will bring you your dish but when I did it was resuscitation, CPR, 911, and then hospital. It was a pulmonary embolism because she had been housebound and the shame is she was only 54. I would hope that all my friends here help me learn because she was so much smarter at computers than I am but depression and physical ailments took her down from a very good position to being home bound. I am dedicating myself to trying to be as computer literate as herself and helping people with depression. Bless You.

    HI Gatorman

I know how hard it must have been to type the moments of that sad night for us all to share, in some respects its a good thing to get your thoughts out and talk, 54 is such a young age. I also hope that you have family and friends to chat to aswell, as personal contact is crucial.

But we are all here for you and will help as much as we can in assisting you in your goal of becomeing better with PCs, all you need to do is ask away as NO question no matter how easy you think it will be for others to know, if you dont know it then you dont. Teh only daft question is the one not asked :)

    Hello again, gatorman.
That was a heart breaking story to hear. I am so sorry your wife passed at such a relatively young age and so suddenly, too. Such a shame. There are some very understanding, kind and patient people at this site, so just talk away, man.
I'm sure you'll be more proficient in computing sooner than you think. Just before I started visiting MGs I sat at the computer and had to ask my son and his friend how to 'work it!' lol. Now, after going through old(ish) threads on the support forums, I am slowly starting to understand how the thing works. So, you aren't alone in wanting to learn further. Best wishes for the future and good luck in the geeking.
Visiting the off topic section is always a great way to spend a spare couple of hours, too. Call in regularly and give it large.

So sorry to hear of you tragic loss, Gatorman:(. This site is one of the best places to receive, not only computer help second to none, but a level of friendship, compassion, and at times, good humour that few sites can match.

Take care, and best wishes to you in these difficult times. :)

So sorry to hear of your loss, gatorman. I can't imagine what you are going through. We can probably take care of your computer needs, but here is a forum designed for those who have lost spouses. You might find some support and comfort there as well. I'm sure that they can help with questions you might have.

Sorry to hear of your loss, gatorman. An unexpected onset like that is tough - no time to mentally prepare yourself. A couple weeks in, you're probably still in the process of fully digesting the event. Stay strong, and seek counsel. or just company, if you feel the need. I wish i could give you more than just words, but that's all computers are capable of just now. Focusing on your interests, like learning more about the computer will help. So will getting out a bit, even if just to walk and appreciate the beauty of the sky and trees.
