Converter Box shuts off every minute or so

I have been using my magnavox converter box since November with no problems. Last Friday it started shutting off about every two minutes. Eventually it will stay on but on Sunday it went off about 20 times in a row - very frustrating. It reverts back to the channel from the previous night. I changed the batteries in the remote and unplugged items not used in the same outlet but it keeps shutting off. Any ideas?

 

Overheating? Is it getting hot before it shuts off? Maybe the fans aren't keeping the unit cool enough?

 

I don't think it's overheating. It will eventually stay on. I don't know if there is interference from an outside source or could I possibly have a lemon))

 

What you are experiencing is the energy saver mode that's enabled on all coupon elgible converter boxes.

You can disable this option through the converter's menu.
