HUGE Thanks to Sgt. Tibbs

Okay, my dear, now it's MY turn MAAAHHHHHH (that's supposed to be manical laughter) Most of you know about the deal Sarge and I had, I sent her some parts and all I wanted was a postcard addressed to my son with her states name on it in return! So I'm sitting here, playing 'Doom 2,' when I hear a knock on my door and, low and behold, it was our mailman holding a rather large and, as I soon found out, a heavy box. I saw who it was from so I held my ear to the box and since it wasn't ticking, I accepted it!! I'll skip the rest of the details and get to the contents!! Inside were 3 LARGE tupperware thinghys filled with cookies!! Yes, cookies...lemon drop, pecan sandies and chocolate fudge cookies!! There was at least 2 dozen cookies in each tupperware!! Of course, I had to sample each one and they are FANTASTIC!:drool They really are! The fudge cookies and the lemon drop are so moist and the sandies just melt in your mouth!!

Beth, thank you so very much and even though you didn't have to go to such extremes for me, I appreciate it more than you'll ever know. You are a real sweetheart

Just a word of advice for anyone reading this thread, if you ever have the pleasure of dealing with the Sarge for whatever reason, demand COOKIES!!! Settle for nothing less than COOKIES!!:-D

 

Lucky you Stubby. At least I hope you got the postcard! roflmao Seriously guys, that was/is so nice from both sides that I almost teared up and was left hungry too.

 

The highlighted sentence in your reply was the biggest belly laugh I've had since my uncle Herbert got his beard trapped in the toaster. Nice one, Stubby.
That was very decent and thoughtful of you, Sarge. I, like Augie had a little lump in my throat. Wish there were more like the people I've met here in the world.

I remember receiving a tin of home-made fudge and cookies all the way from Canada, once. They were :drool, too, LoL!

Shoot...I'll have to run out tonight and get one! I would go right now but I'm in the middle of doing laundry and all my pants are in the washer. :-o

Anyway, six dozen cookies is absolutely no match for all the stuff you put in that box, and was the least I could do. You're very welcome! And I promise I'll get the postcard out tomorrow!

Geez, my mother just walked into the room and thwacked me on the back of the head for forgetting as well! OW! Not that I don't deserve it, but shoot...that really hurt! :cry

 

Hey Sarge, please don't concern yourself over that postcard. My goodness woman, you have done enough and, to be perfectly honest with you, my son will be more than content with those cookies!! Trust me, he's like his daddy...a true 'Cookie Monster!!':-D There's one other reason I wished you'd forget that card....once my son and I eat all these cookies I probably wouldn't even be able to 'waddle' out to the mailbox to get it!!roflmao I just sincerly hope that you know you WILL be billed for my next 5 sessions at "Weight Watchers!!":eek But what a way too go!! I'm in 'cookie heaven!':celebrate

When you mentioned that your mother whacked you on the head, that reminded me of my favorite TV show, NCIS. Gibbs, the team leader, would do the same to anyone of the team that screwed up. Does your mother, by any chance, watch NCIS????

Hey Stubby...just in case you (or anyone else) wants to know, this is what I sent:
Butter Pecan Shortbread Cookies
Lemon Cream Cheese Cookies
The chocolate are simply the same recipe as the lemon, but using a dark chocolate fudge cake mix instead. :-D

On my way to pick up a postcard now! :-D
