    Hi,

    I recently switched to a new install of Windows XP. I didn't realize how bad a malware problem I have. First time I've seen 'redirect loop' on firefox, up until recently firefox has been untouchable.

    Anyway, I'm following the malware forum thread. I'm going to run the various malware programs today and tomorrow.

    I've already run them all on basic settings, running thorough tomorrow. Here is MGlgos though.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    You need to complete all instructions in our cleaning procedure. MGtools is the last thing to run. Please follow instructions in the order written and then attach all 4 logs including a new log from MGtools. You did not even download or run ComboFix.

    Also attach your logs here. Do not upload them somewhere else.

    Long story short my PC fell over so the HD has been formatted again. If this occurs again I'll follow the procedure you stated.

    Any tips on programs to prevent malware getting on my pc in the first place? - or the same programs?
