My computer keeps freezing up especially if I start my games up which are located on the 320gb drive. I did a battery of tests on entire system, came up with the following errors
    Error code 0f00:075d
Msg:IDE device failed:Th self test failed the read portion of the test.
    SATA Disk S/N: WD-WMAP41715739 - S.M.A.R.T long self test.

    the second error:
    Error code 0f00:1a44
Msg: Block 19133183. Uncorrectable data error or media is write protected.
    SATA Disk S/N = WD-WMAP41715739 - Verify test.

does this mean i have to get a new harddrive? or can a reinstall of vista fix it. or do i have to format the harddrive and then reinstall vista.

I have two 160gigs in raid where the system is installed and bf2. all other media and gamesand important stuff are in a third harddrive i installed after i got the comp.

    thanks for your help.

    First, Welcome to Major Geeks.
From my own personal experience, most programs or games, work and perform when on the main disk(C) rather than having to go someplace else for the data needed.
With a 1000GB hard drive, should be room to put your games for faster access.

Have you tried a repair using your Vista disk and have you tried a system restore and a chkdsk /f If need be boot into safe mode for this.

It may have something to do with the dual drives, going back and forth.

I have not used vista disk. I did use system restore and check disk upon restart and then f12. I also used the dell diagnostics and checked individual hardware components and i got the errors i mentioned earlier.

i am currently looking into software like spinrite 6. Do you recommend using the vista disk? I used safe mode too. Thanks for all your suggestions. Please keep them comming, i appreciate.
