    Hi Everyone,

Recently you guys helped me out with one of my other computers and decided to see how the other computer I own was doing and it appears im infected on this one as well. I ran through the cleaning process as told once and it appeared everything was back in order. Well I decided to run again after a reboot to make sure everything was fine and well, some stuff came back.

    Here are some details.

The orginial stuff found was adware.vundo.variant and some other stuff which disabled MB and Antispyware and my nod32, but i did the workaround for mb and got it to work and eventually got superantispyware to work as well.

Here are my logs as requested.

Thanks in advanced and look forward to getting this pc clean.

Run this Disable/Remove Windows Messenger to remove Windows Messenger. Do not confuse Windows Messenger with MSN Messenger because they are not the same. Windows Messenger is a frequent cause of popups.

Uninstall the below old versions of software:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5

Now we need to use ComboFix
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Now run Ccleaner to clean out only temp files and nothing else!

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

First off, Thank you in advance for taking the time to help me. It means a lot and I'm very grateful.

Okay I did exactly as you said and I am including the two logs you asked for.

At the current moment my computer seems fine, but something was happening within the last day or so and this is before you just helped me. When I would be working on the computer I would notice my windows firewall would deactivate on its own and within a couple of seconds turn back on by itself.

This happens throughout the day. Now, I don't know if this is going to happen now that you helped me out, but I will keep the computer running and report back if that happens. Either way at the current time it seems okay, but that windows firewall thing happens at different times throughout the day. I will keep you posted on that issue.

    Okay,

I tried to edit the thread, but I guess my time expired. My firewall keeps turning off and than on all by its self still after your latest instructions. It is the basic window xp firewall. Don't know if this has anything to do with the malware or viruses, but thought I would let you know

Here is something else I noticed: Over the last few days different trojans being downloaded to my computer even when I'm not online. I am running nod32 and it has caught all of them so far, but I figure something must be dialing out. I have included a screenshot of my NOD32 Quartinenine area in case it helps.

If you have a highspeed internet connection then you are always on line. You don't need to have a browser opened to be online. This is the reason why PCs need to be properly protected and why you must have a good firewall installed (which you do not have) and also why you should have a router with a hardware firewall even if you don't have a need for multiple PCs to be connected.

Let's check to see if anything new has mad its way in.

    • Please uninstall your current version (this is necessary).
    • Then download this SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Install this new version. It may tell you that you need to reboot to complete the installation. You must reboot at this time.
    • After the reboot, run SUPERAntiSpyware and immediately click the Check for Updates button to get more updates for the database.
    • Now run a new full scan of your system. And attach this new log.
Now run Malwarebytes and click the Update tab. Then click the Check for Updates button so you update to the current version of the program and database. Then run a new scan with it too. Attach the new log.

Note you did not uninstall J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5 as I requested. This old version of Java is a security risk.

I will do as you ask and post the logs as soon as possible. Yeah I forgot to unstaill java before I sent you the logs, but after I posted my reply I noticed it and got rid of it using a unistall program. So java has been gone since I sent you the reply just did it after posted the logs as I forgot.

Just to give you an update as well. I have not had nod32 catch anything lately and things have been running pretty smooth except for the firewall popping on and off.

I have decided to buy malware bytes and will be buying a good firewall you guys recommend and superantispyware for the future.

WIll do it once we get stuff straight.

    Will post logs soon.

    Thank you

    Your logs were clean.

Doesn't the NOD32 software you have installed include a firewall? I see a driver for it in your logs. Or did you use to have Eset's Security Suite installed and then uninstall it and now only use the antivirus?
