Santa Monica is trying to ban street performers, what a shame that would be, what a loss, some of the most talented people I've ever seen were on the streets.

 

I was saddened when reading the bio of Roger to learn of his passing after the final version of this video was complete. Street preformers are a one of a kind entertainment that fit into everybodys life and bring a glimmer f hope to some.

I'd like to say that I thought it was a brilliant song/video. But I can't. Sorry. It was pretty dull, I thought.
I'm not trying to be controversial or anti American....blah blah blah (which I've been accused of being in the past), but it didn't evoke any emotion in me at all. Just some guys singing a popular song in a different way. No big deal.

That's honestly what I was going to write. I only watched the first 90 seconds or so then turned it off. I went back to watch the rest before I submitted and do I need a large helping of humble pie. It turned out to be an exceptional piece of music.

Your opinions are all quite well welcomed here no matter what thay may be. I have no quarms about them. I found the video extra ordinary because it was recorded on a laptop and intermixed later in a way I don't know. The people were from around the world and of different cultures but in the end they all came together in one production of " love thy neighbor" and not as "it's my way or the highway"attitude. Peace be with you whoever you are and where ever you are is what I'm seeing.

I really never heard that side of the story. More that it was on political grounds, seeing as S Africa was ostrasized by the rest of the world at the time over apartheid.
