I was wondering if anyone out there had any good solutions for how to tell when a computer was last powered on and used. We are getting ready to makes some changes to where computers are located and we would like to move computers that hardly ever get used to locations where they might get used more often.

If anyone knows of a good software solution for how to monitor this, or something that can be done within the AD?

I have done some searching and the best thing I am seeing so far is logging onto each computer and looking at the event log, but if someone has a solution that doesn't require me to go to each machine that would be fantastic!

I know a solution, but it needs you to go to each machine.
follow this steps: "Start"--->"control panel"-->"administrative tools"-->"events viewer"--->"system" , then you can see not only the last logging information but all former logging.

You could use a logon script to save the date/time to a textfile on a share. That's what I'm doing at the moment.
