cant access avg's site

im using opera 9.64 and no proxy or anything of the kind but i canot access the avg site through anylink is it possible a virus is blocking the site or is it an operating system error?

is there a freeware that can let me know?

ps:i dont know if this matters but i cant update avg either

 

hmmm try flushing your dns

go to start, run type cmd

then ipconfig /flushdns

exit cmd

reboot

 

hey guys i dont know if this is realated to the avg problem but im having issues with the mouse double clicking almost like somthing in the setup got screwed up any ideas

issues:double clicking, staying clicked without option enabled, one left click is acting like one right click and highlighting wildly

 

Try updating Windows (Windows Update) and accessing security sites such as Symantec etc. It that doesn't work head over to the Read and Run me.

PS: After reading your post, I've tried updating AVG several times and their server is working fine.

 

ok i didnt think it was their site its my computer im sure of that much and everytime i look at the read and run i tells me to find the newer one any idea?

 

What ver of AVG do you have, 7.5 is (not supported anymore) AVG 8.5 is the current version.

 

Do you have a spare mouse? If so, did you try and see it that resolves the issues?

Did you go to Windows Update, Symantec etc to see if you an access them?

 

windows update kept leading me in circles sence im on opera (kept saying i needed ie 6+)

i havnt had a chance to switch mouse so that'll be for l8er

and yes 7.5 but why cant i get into site to update? (also last time i tryed 8.5 i got almost done installing and got a registry error)

 

If its AVG 7.5, they arent updating it anymore. Its a dead horse.
I would suggest you download 8.5, save to my documents(do not RUN it yet), uninstall 7.5 then install from the folder you have with the download in my documents.

 

Download AVG 8.5. Then remove AVG version 7.5 with the appropriate tool: http://www.avg.com/download-tools Reboot (twice) and then install AVG 8.5. See if that will work.

Install IE 7 from Windows Update in Internet Explorer. See if that helps.

:-o Forgot to tell you to do a custom install of AVG 8.5

When in custom install, untick Link Scanner and Toolbar.

The above are hogs and may slow down your computer.

Did you try to uninstall AVG 7.5 with the tool and did that work or not? Did you install AVG 8.5 and was the installation successful?

When responding, please be more specific in what you did, how etc.?

So my question is: what did you do after you received an error and it asked you to restart?

 

i didnt get to restart as i was a bit busy but its a registry error i know that much and i was wrong when i tryed to update to newer the last time it stayed at 8.0 but is currupt so wont work
