The Weekend Thread - 1.1

Right, so another weekend is upon us. Thankfully a short work week has brought forth this blessed day. So what are your plans?

Friday - Work today, go home tonight and try to take it easy. My back has been killing me for days now and I'm out of Lortab.

Saturday - What's a better way to make your back feel better you may ask? Move a freezer and a refrigerator and clean out the garage. yeah... rolleyes

Sunday - Church in the morning and evening. Just try to chill out the rest of the time. If I'm lucky, also get some more studying time in for my A+.

Put new handlebars on my motorcycle.
Ride said motorcycle.
Beer.

 

Today I'm finally getting around to taking off storm windows and putting up screens. First time I've had time when it wasn't cold or raining (only nice days when I would want the windows open are when I'm working...hate that).

Tomorrow I'll finish whatever I didn't get to today, then it's Game One Red Wings vs. Penguins (sorry to whoever that Stars fan was who wanted my whole team to die...we're still playing).

Sunday is free taco bar and pool at my favourite hangout, then Game Two.

I really wanna get out in the machine shop and start work on my bicycle, but that ain't going to happen any time before next paycheck.

Trash talking is one thing. Wishing death upon a team repeatedly because they play better than your team is, well...over the line.

Dude? That was funny! Last I checked I was a woman, but things could've changed since I got out of the shower this morning. :-D

I'll cut ya some slack, though. You don't know how well I know these guys, and you don't know that I've worked for the Grand Rapids Griffins (the primary affiliate to the Red Wings) since the team was born in 1996, and you don't know most of those boys feel like they're my kids. And you know what? It doesn't matter. Because even though I don't know anyone's name on the Stars, I still don't wish them dead. I still just wish they had better skills so fans such as yourself weren't so bitter and jealous of those of us who back a winning team. Maybe someday someone will teach you what trash talk really is, because you've obviously misinterpreted a little.

I plan to have a fabulous weekend watching MY team win at hockey.

Long weekend here, (Foundation Day, or something). Doesn't mean much to me as I own the Co. and work pretty much 24/7, or as needed, if you will. Weather has become fine and mild again, which isn't as great as it seems, since we've had no rain this autumn - except for a howling cyclone for a few days that wrecked my fence, Grrr!

Go in greenhouse with Blossom Hill,
Side shoot tomato plants, drink Blossom Hill.
Look for more side shoots, drink Blossom Hill.
drink side shoots and put Blossom Hill on compost heap.

well, my weekend was more eventful than I thought.

one day the raccoons will learn that attacking my cats, especially attacking them at the back door of my house leads to a rapid painful death.

I think that is a pretty logical chain.

 

Everything in my weekend went exactly as planned. Detroit 2 - Pittsburgh 0, best of seven. :-D

I'm a Penguins fan, and although I don't think the series needs to end in death, I won't give up until they lose at home. I think both teams are playing well. Detroit seems to have a lot less Russians than I remember. I haven't followed too close in a few years though, in fact it's funny when I hear names I remember.

I hope the Pens win 2 or 3, just to keep it interesting, if they're going to lose the series.

 

Oh, I fully expect it to go seven games...but right now we're kicking butt. :-D I would actually feel bad for Pittsburgh if they got swept...they're a much better team than that. But then so was Carolina... You never know.

@darlene1029: It's so rare I had to gloat about it. Usually somebody somewhere throws a wrench in the works, mostly by calling me to work at the last minute.
