I have followed your instructions and will attached the logs you requested. This issue began as a Winav.exe infection with annoying security pop-ups. I haven't any idea where the initial infection began because I personally do not use this particular computer. My husband, who is the daily user, thinks it could have been from an email sent to his Yahoo account. He recalls trying to open an attachment which Yahoo flagged as infected. However, when he received the infection message, he did not open the file.

I have BrightHouse cable internet and their provided CA Antivirus/Spyware/Firewall software was able to prevent the infection from spreading, but it was not able to remove it. I found that whenever I turned off the Firewall's Ad Blocker feature, the infection returned and multiplied itself.

I would like to know that this computer is now virus free and appreciate any advice you can give me.

An update. I have had my antivirus find and clean 2 additional viruses since I posted this problem. This means that yet still, this infernal infection remains on my machine! One was "Aleuron" and the other is "A0048806.dll - Win32/TDSS/packed".

I am not seeing any malware in your logs. It appears that the scans took care of all of it. You will need to tell me exactly what is being found. Also please use windows explorer to find and delete:
C:\WINDOWS\yy ---> unless you know what this is.

I have deleted the file you suggested, though I haven't any idea what that file is for. The 2 viruses, which appeared after I followed the listed cleaning suggestions at this site, were caught by my antivirus which quarantined one and deleted the other. I deliberately left the one in quarantine in case there were any questions about it. That one is listed as "A0048806.dll - Win32/TDSS/packed". The other one has been deleted and it was called "Aleuron", if I am spelling that correctly. However, that said, my antivirus did catch it and delete it.

When initially the Winav.exe Rogue Security virus appeared, I had increased my firewall's ad blocking feature. After running CA antivirus and CA spyware cleaner and removing the files, I turned the ad blocking software off. When I did this is when all the other viruses showed up. I then found and followed the Major Geeks suggestion to clean the viruses and posted the accompanying log files. I'm glad you say it looks clean. I did not have any viruses appear yesterday. However, my firewall's ad blocking feature is driving my husband nuts, but I am too afraid to turn it off again.

I will monitor that computer for a few days and if anything else turns up, I will reply to this message about it. Thanks for taking a look at the logs. I do hope the problem is solved.

I would suggest you work thru the following.......
    1. We recommed you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They are useful as backup scanners. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

      • Delete the C:\combofix folder from combofix (if it exists)

    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    7. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
