Where and how did you propose to your beloved?
I was saying good night to my lovely girl friend, the thought of not seeing her till the next day tipped the balance.
Nothing romantic about the place (a bus stop) or how i asked (just a simple will you marry me)
Way back in 1960 I thought she was miss right, didnt realize she'd be so an so right for ever though

I did similar to that, I never asked my wife to marry me, just told her we should plan a wedding. I'd been engaged before, and it wasn't anything to write home about, you know? I'd decided that I was just going to get married, and forgo the engagement, and it worked. LOL (so far) :cool

I feel so unromantic, but we just kind of agreed on it one evening over some dinner and such.

My boyfriend took me out to a park under the stars on a cold January night, up to the peak of the little mountain there. Under a crescent moon. He of course claims he didn't plan it that way. :)

I proposed, on one knee, in the pub, in front of all my mates, after a game of 5 aside. I was bricking it at the time, in case she said no. But she accepted and I never bought another drink that day.
The wife decided when we got married. She just said, "Do you want to get married?" About six weeks later she was Mrs McGuinness. :cool

    Great stories!

Being a girl, I love Mimsy's. LOL Particularly the crescent moon (my fave moon phase).

My husband and I met in college my freshman year, so had been dating 4-5 years before he asked me. lol...sadly, it was not romantic. He gave me the ring for Christmas with my whole family sitting there. My younger bro grabbed the box and opened it...got a shocked look on his face and just about threw it back at me. LOL

    We've been together 23 years....married 17 years this Saturday. :)

Yeah, I can just see Mimsy's hubby busily scribbling on a calendar looking for a clear night with a crescent moon. :-D

Laura: Should have tossed it back and said: You opened it, now you have to answer. ;) And Happy Anniversary.

I suspect mine will take place on the gulf coast of Louisiana this summer. I'll let you know how it went after I get there. LOL

I have been engaged twice before (both when I was young and stupid). One of them I honestly don't remember, but the second one he had his best friend drive to my house with his grandmother's ring and get down on one knee to ask me if I'd marry him (my boyfriend, not the best friend). Reason being at the time my boyfriend was on a guided missile cruiser somewhere in the Persian Gulf during the first Gulf War. It was romance-by-proxy. :-D
