need new fps pc game

Hi, I've played Dead Space a couple of times now and I'm ready for a new game. what's a good shooter game to get? thanks

 

played COD 4 or w@w yet?

 

counterstrike source? i still play it.

 

i suggest the CoD games, there is a free game that i play myself called Soldier Front. you should try it, very good, similar to CS:S, though it is laggy at times.

 

Are you sure you're looking for a first person shooter? (dead space is more of a third person action shooter)
Do you want to play with other players online, or do you want to play along by yourself? (like dead space)

 

been playing bioshock, it's fun so far...have played all the cod games, tho w@w isn't the greatest, the single player is really good, as is the zombies and co-op.

 

I must first admit I am not really a fan of FPS games but I seem to have a few :-D

I loved playing the origional Half Life, HL2 isn't as good but it's still ok. Call of duty 4 Modern Warfare is the best FPS I ever played extremely good fun to play through in any mode. But if you like FPS games with aliens like dead space Crysis is probably the best game for it

Cysis has several ways you can play through it, you can power through it with enhanced strength, speed through it with enhanced speed, you can do it all sneaky, sneaky with you're cloak on or you can stand out it the open firing on everything with enhanced amour :-D. Of course you can use these abilities through the game whenever you need them, but I found the game more challenging to stick to one ability after I played through it once

pick from assault bolt and sniper rifles or shotguns machineguns and flasg=h, smoke frag and teargas grens, then go team up cs style ...

1000 players easily 32 limit per game makes for 16 v 16 battles, 10 servers and its freee!

Far cry was pretty lush in its day and any system under 3 or 4 years old should slaughter it as far as running / specs go. You might even find it in the bargin bin at your local P.C electronics or gaming / video store..

Or even the good old Doom3 quite nice... a bit plastic in parts and quite dark in other parts but plenty of fragging to be had.

Battlefield 1942 or any of the other variants plenty of vehicles and planes etc to run around in most maps games less than about half an hour to play.

Knights of the old republic wasnt too bad if your into the Star Wars stuff theres several like this and one variant that is, I'm told, very similar to the battlefield 1942 series.

See if you can trade or swap online, you may have some luck and get an idea for your next fragging title...maybe try some demos to download.

Have you heard of the old school MAME (mulitple arcade machine emulation) games all the old favourites from the Arcades...street fighter etc..and really small files several hundred might fit on a dvd.

Could also try the magazines websites and see what they say..might get a demo or two to download.

Theres always Halo, I only started playing this before my primary unit blewup
- its sold like a squidzillion copies so it cant be all bad. I didnt mind it although a bit like only 3 differnt colours in various shades, typical of X-box titles...imo

but its over the shoulder... lol its alot more fun then Gunz teh duel tho.
Unreal tournament 3 is awesome fun too, but you need a good computer for it... not uber good but.. not ancient either

Has any one mentioned deus ex..........that game was awsome and i see there is a new high res mod out for it now...might have to play it again....Flash point was also cool

 

You may want to look at F.E.A.R Combat. Its free. It been free since 2006 so it runs ok on older computers. You can find it here

 

free online first-person shooters looks ok to me though not sure how good these games will play.

 

Buy the Half-Life Orange box. It has Portal, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2 Episode 1, Half-Life 2 Episode 2, and Team Fortress 2. I have played hundreds of games in my time, and my opinion is that the Half-Life 2 series is easily the best PC game ever.

Unreal Tournament 3 is pretty good. Bioshock is an incredible ride too.

While I agree with you that KotOR was a good game (I actually think it's an outstanding one) a traditional story-driven RPG with deep character development and turn-based 3rd person combat with some strategic elements is probably not what the OP was looking for when he asked for "a good FPS for PC".

 

My suggestion's are Resident Evil 5 (More like Third person shooter but what the hell I'm throwing it in the mix)

I've never played it, but i hear it's pretty good. Its a large download, if you don't have HL2 source files

 

I don't think Nwn2 and Dragon Age count as FPS either...

I'm almost tempted to get a Steam account now just so I can get Portal... I'll have to think about this.
