This is a quote I received from my friend. I am not sure how to approach this and would very much appreciate any insights into how I can help my friend with this problem:
    Here is the quote:
. I am pretty sure I have the Conficker virus on a memory stick and I would realy like to get the info from it. I was using the memory stick before my computer went down. When I pluged the stick in the library computer it gave me a error message but I forget what the message was but I am very sure that my laptop had that virus so the memory stick which I used regularly should have had it too.
What is the safest way to get my info? Or is that not a option?

    Thanks so much everyone.

    Use a PC that
    1. Has ALL Windows updates installed (especially this one: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS08-067.mspx )
    2. Has disabled AutoRuns. See:Disabling AutoRuns
    3. Has antivirus, realtime antispyware, and a real 3rd party firewall installed, updated, and running.
DO NOT run anything from the flashdrive. Just copy personal data that is required.
