Hi all, thanks inadvanced for any info or help! My question is, can you set your pc up too only be able to goto one website? The Story.... My daughter bombed Algebra 1 big time this past school year. So we are making her retake it Via Virtual summer school in hopes of bringing up her grade. Can I setup her pc to only be able to goto the Virtual schools website??? Thanks again for any advice or help you can offer!!!

    HI

What windows version do you have as you could use in Vista the parental controls and just limit her insternet to that one URL (website) http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/features/parental-controls.aspx

What router do you have if you have one as some can block all websites bar the ones you want? but off hand that may be a global setting for all.

Could also especially if XP use a content filtering application like Netnanny or similar, or just found this one that free for home use http://www1.k9webprotection.com/

Blocking one or a few websites is easy, but the other way around is at times no so easy, as blocking specific sites via HOSTS is good but you couldnt follow that route.

kids are savvy these days, so you would definitely need to use a limited windows account or she will find a way around it one way or another. you wouldn't happen to have comcast as your isp? they offer mcafee parental control software for free. mcafee is a resource hog on slower computers, but it does work good.

Thank you both for your reply! I didn't really think it was going to be a simple one click here sort of deal!!! Anyway or service provider is cox cable and our router is a linksys (WRT54GS). Her computer is an emachine w/ Vista home basic. And yes, unfortunately she knows how to delete browser history, etc.... I want to trust her to do the right thing, but she has 8 weeks to complete a 32 week course!
