    Sad news.

I heard that Ryan O'Neil was going to to marry her before she died as he was with her for quite a while during her battle, dont know if he managed this or not as it was the last Sundays paper I read this in.

She fought a brave battle, and lost. Another sad day.

I don't know if she and Ryan got married, or not, don't get much TV here...
    :(

Yes they married think a week ago, after almost 30 years. He is falling apart, said he's going with her, I hope he gives some thought to their son that one is messed up enough without loosing both parents.
    It's all very sad.

Seems my information was wrong, they did not marry after all.

Yeah it seems from what I read today that they wanted to get married or thought of it last week but sadly she was not able this week to say any vows!

That poster you posted Darlene iirc sold more that pammy andersons baywatch pics and was a major schoolboy and adult pinup pic in the 80s, I actually liked watching Charlies Angels when I was a kid (wonder why!) sad end to a young life by todays standards and tells me and should be us to life life to the full, I bet she did.

I liked Charlie's Angels also, was entertaining, made us dull house mouses drift into tv world and kick the butts we really would like to do in real life . ;)
They referred to it as a mindless jiggle show. Yeah, what is on today is much better rolleyes

I really do thing the 80s shows where the best ever, yeah their are some modern classics like House, Lost, ER, CSI etc but nothing was as entertaining as Charlies Angels (poor Bosley), Hart to Hart, ALF (never laughed so much now I'm older at a TV series), CHIPS, Hill Street Blues (classic cops show and basically IMO the forerunner to CSI),Hooperman, Family Ties, Cheers, Miami Vic, Magnum PI, St Elsewhere, Streethawk, WonderWoman.. and the list goes on, those where just pure fun shows and something I look back on and smile from my growing up as all of them where aroudn when I was in my teens, great times.

Jiggle show, yeah ok lovely ladies where in it but it was not a show that took itself serious it was pure entertainment unlike the mindless dross we have now, that tries to emmulate those aforementioned shows, sadly todays shows in the main do not cut it a few pure gems like for me The West Wing and original CSI but not much else captures the 80s shows.

Reality shows, OMG, think they came about with the writers strike and worse, they stayed!

Yup, as episodic TV faded during the strike, the execs found that 'reality' shows were much cheaper to make and the viewing public bought it up to their surprise and delight! It's like the 401K version of a real pension plan.

Look at what NBC's doing with Leno, as much as he gets paid it's still cheaper than airing 5 real shows. I'm actually thinking of canceling my cable TV and putting those bucks towards an uncapped internet connection with all the unwatchable garbage that's on there now.

Thanks for the memories Halo, excellent shows there, all of them!

Yeah Augie and I think Farrah was a major part of that era and in TV for me it was a great time and she like Michael Jackson has left a legacy that will last, but just cannot remember a geeky computer series I used to watch around that time too, was about a group of school computer nerds!

Ahhhhhhh just come to me Wizz Kids

Worst thing now is I remembering all sorts of great 80s shows Riptide, Taxi, Call of Duty, Simon and Simon, Remmington Steele, OMG has someone slipped me an 80s pill!!!!!

RIP Farrah, and you made me remember the good times of 80s TV :)

IMO FF was more of an icon than Pamela Anderson could ever hope to be. And she was still hot for 62.
I remember the furore when Charlie's real identity was revealed. Good old fashioned clean TV.

Taxi was the first sit com I really watched. Nothing seemed to measure up to it for years after. (I think two and a half men is about the only (American) one that comes close.) Add to that The A-Team, The Incredible Hulk, Diff'rent Strokes, late M*A*S*H, and while I remember, does anyone recall a programme from a bit earlier (mid to late 70s?) called The Lost Islands? Loved that show.

Never heard of it, looks interesting though..

I was only 10 in 1989, so I don't vividly remember the 80's, I do remember Knight Rider, Air Wolf, Fall Guy and The Dukes of Hazzard though. Was Cheers from the 80's?
