converting from PDF

I have XP and Word 2007. I created a Word document from a PDF but cannot edit the document. It is shown under "picture tools" and cannot seem to make it so I can make some changes. Can anyone help here? Thanks

 

Exactly how did you create this Word file from the PDF? I have the impression you actually have screen print from the PDF in your Word file. Therefore, you would not be able to edit text appearing in it.

 

I use a program called SmartPDAConverter Pro. Not sure what it does but what sense does it make to convert a PDF if you can't edit it after? Are there other programs I could use?

This may help, may not.
There are two basic forms of information, no matter what program made it.
One is a visual image (picture, .jpg, .mov); a string of color information which is painted on your screen.
The other is a text sequence (document, .txt, .doc, .xls); a sequence of ASCII characters with some formatting information.
You can convert back and forth, with Optical Character Recognition moving pictures to text and print screen (or in your case a PDF maker) moving text to pictures.

But you cannot edit a picture with a text editor nor a text document with paint program. PDF will store either type. If you make a PDF you want to edit as text be sure it is saved in a text format.
