V8 Supercars will race for the first time in Townsville, Queensland, Australia, on a purpose built Street circuit through the city.

Australian revheads will be well aware of this race. As the V8 Supercars have a following the UK and other countries, I have listed a few links for you. Practice is on today (Friday) with racing on the weekend.

    Links are
    http://www.v8supercarevents.com.au/Townsville/
    and http://www.v8supercarevents.com.au/Townsville/news.htm

Hope you get to seek it on your local TV. I will be glued to OZ Channel 7 as I lived near Townsville for a few years and flew in and out of Townsville when I worked in various mines.

The racing weekend has just finished (3.40pm Sunday OZ time)
Around 160,000 attended the 3 day weekend. Great attendance for OZ, lots of kilometres (miles) driven by some visitors. For example, it is around 200 miles each way (approx 350 kilometres) for someone from Cairns (where I live) to attend.

Bazza :-D Yep watched it today on the telly, but nothing like watching it trackside tho :-D.

Not sure what to make of Scaife as a commentator yet, sometimes the man just doesn't shut up and other times his insights about the drivers and cars were really interesting.

The enforcer had a bad day :cry . Frosty is my driver at present. I watched Lowndes race at Winton earlier this year, awesome driving on that day he literally blew all the field away in both races.

Did you see the temperatures on the inside of the Cars?? 46 degrees C. and they're wearing full driving suits and helmets...

Revhead - yep I can live with that.:-D

Bazza - Awe now you done gone it. I can't figure out how you did that fancy formatting so I just use what I know for now.

I've never sat trackside for a streetbased race, so I'm guessing that it's a fair bit different to trackside at a dedicated race track. Winton is great, even if your not in a grandstand you can still see most of the track.

Scaifey and onions there's a joke there somewhere LOL but not going there.

The enforcer isn't what he used to be and that is really sad, but it is a young man's game now, not sure what the average age would be but most of the drivers appear to be only in their 20's

What you say about winter and only 55LOL you need some real weather - come down south to Mexico it's 12° and freezing.:-D

paramonks, the formatting is simple once you try it. I'll explain tomorrow. I'm very late today. Closing now to watch the state of oranges. :-D

Hi. Back at at the usual early hour today. ;);)
The easiest way to format my earlier reply is to copy the contents of the post to your clipboard that you want to compose an answer to.

Then click on Post Reply, top left, of the post you are going to reply to.
This will open up a new blank box where all the editing is done.

Next, paste the text that you copied to your clipboard into the blank box.

Then add blank lines in between the text, sentences, paragraphs or whatever, where your reply will be.

Then type in your appropriate reply/replies into the respective blank lines.
DO NOT PRESS ENTER after any reply. This will come later. Use your mouse cursor to go from one set of blank lines to another to be able to type in your answers.

    Now the most important part.
At the front of each of your replies type in [.q.u.o.t.e.] without the dots, periods or full stops (however you know them as). Then move your mouse cursor to the end of each of your replies and type in [./.q.u.o.t.e.] without the dots, periods or full stops (however you know them as). I have added the dots here otherwise editing would launch and I wouldn't be able to explain what happens. ;)

Do this before and after each of your replies. DO NOT PRESS ENTER after any reply, until you have done this for all replies.
Then press ENTER on your keyboard and this will send your edited post to your selected MG post.

You should then get a reply, the same as my reply, to your particular post.
If it doesn't come out the same then carefully peruse each of your inserted replies to make sure you have removed every dot from before and after your replies. Make sure you have typed [ [ not{ as well, in every one of your replies.

This is much easier to do than expain here, once you are used to it. I hope this tutorial :-D makes sense. PM me, or reply here, if my explanation leaves you further confused. :)
