Technically only one katana, but a very nice one. Rosewood hilt and sheath, full tang, battle ready, very sharp... *puuuuuurrrrrr*

Nice Mimsy You are a lucky person. My son has a couple of swords. Don't know what kind they are but I like them.

I've never heard of the "Diamond Tipped" anniversary, that's awesome. I have 2 swords in my basement, but they're both novelty swords from flea markets, just looked nice hanging on the wall when I had them up.. Congratulations both of you.

 

Oh BTW, I saw a show this past weekend on how the Japanese make a traditional sword from smelting the iron ore, to the forging of the sword and its tempering (one loses one every three tries) to the polishing. It was on PBS, I think it was Nova Now. One of the best shows I've seen at 3AM!

That reminds me, I have a pair of very old Japanese swords in storage somewhere. No idea what they would be worth these days. I do have a big Claymore, (about 1.5m long), hanging on the kitchen wall, though. Good burglar chopper-upper, but not so good for chopping veggies, I would say. :-D

Actually, instead of a shield I modded his PSP for him. Now all our old PS1 games can be played on it. He likes his present
